                                                            Knowledge-sharing and experience exchange event – October 13–14, 2026

Farming & Technology for Africa (FTA), through the Minimal Irrigation Project (MIP), the Fiaraha-monina Maitso Manana Amby Ampy sy Afaka (FM3A) Project, and the Tsinjorano National Water Management Competition, is pleased to invite you to a two-day event dedicated to the theme: "Research and Agricultural Extension with and for Farmers." The event will take place on October 13–14, 2026, at CNEAGR (formerly CFAMMA), Nanisana, Antananarivo, Madagascar.
This two-day event will provide a valuable platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collective reflection on the challenges and opportunities facing agricultural research and extension in Madagascar. It will feature research findings from the MIP, highlight agricultural innovations, and foster discussions on extension approaches and their impact on farmers' practices.
Through testimonials from farmers who have adopted findings from previous research, participants will have the opportunity to discuss observed changes, challenges encountered, and opportunities for improvement. The event aims to strengthen understanding of the factors that support the sustainable adoption of agricultural innovations and their contribution to agricultural development.
The event will bring together a diverse range of agricultural and development stakeholders, including policymakers, researchers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), development projects, agricultural advisors, extension workers, farmers, students, and technical and institutional partners.
Over these two days, participants will have the opportunity to:
·         Explore and showcase agricultural research findings and extension experiences.
·         Share lessons learned from field initiatives and exchange experiences among stakeholders.
·         Discuss practical solutions for water management, the adoption of agroecological practices, and agricultural innovation.
·         Assess the impacts of innovations adopted by farmers and identify ways to strengthen their effectiveness.
·         Jointly explore opportunities to improve agricultural research and extension in Madagascar.
Your participation will help enrich discussions, strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, and generate practical recommendations for more productive, resilient, and sustainable agriculture.
